Unlocked devices mean that the device will work with any GSM provider so it is a great option if you want to travel overseas. However, that does not mean unlocked devices will work on all networks. For example, an unlocked device will NOT work on networks like Sprint, Verizon, US Cellular, or other CDMA based networks. Most unlocked devices will only work on GSM networks and will require a SIM card to be used.
Additionally, an unlocked device might not offer you all the benefits of a carrier specific device for your network. For example, an unlocked device being used on the T-Mobile network might not be able to activate all of the 4G LTE bands to access fully optimized network speeds. If you intend to use a device on a specific network where we also sell a device directly provisioned for that network, we advise that you purchase the device specifically meant for your respective network.
If you intend on purchasing an unlocked device and are unsure whether it will work on your specific carrier, we strongly recommend that you first contact your carrier about the use of that specific model you want to purchase with their service.
Finally, all unlocked devices require the use of SIM Cards, which BuyBackWorld does not sell or ship with devices. If you already have a compatible SIM Card for the device you are looking to purchase, you can simply insert it into your new device and then contact your carrier for activation. Otherwise, you will have to source and or purchase on from your chosen carrier.
